The most special enotourism in the Costa Brava
With a good wine and good cheese you will won me over. But if I can also share it with friends and family, it still tastes better.
In the Costa Brava, we have wines D.O. Empordà that are very interesting, as well as some very tasty cheeses from local producers that I invite you to try when you have the opportunity to visit our wonderful land.
A few days ago I participated in a family activity in a very special winery in Alt Empordà: La Vinyeta, whose production consists of organic wines in addition to other goods, by the hand of an expert sommelier in wines from our territory, Laura Masramon and the oenologist and owner of the Vinyeta, Josep.
We tried different cheeses and different wines while doing a tour (with some stops) through the vineyards. It was a very pleasant experience that we, adults and children, could share.
The first stop was to taste the white wine Heus paired with a wonderful, creamy and unctuous cheese called Fermió (there was the softest version and the most mature version). The children took ecological juices of different flavors. These types of cheese fascinate me, they are creamy and tasty. Of course, you have to like cheese!
Then we took a walk through the vineyards carrying our glass of Heus in our hands and Laura told us a very funny story about wine and other interesting aspects and anecdotes about it.
At the next stop, in a wonderful place, in front of the vineyards and the sunset, we tried the Llavors white wine and the Pla cheese, an experimental cheese from La Vinyeta (which I certainly loved) and Heus rosé.
And finally, inside the winery, we finished the small tasting with the white micro-fermented in cask and taken out of the moscat barrel (the new wine that will be brought to the market) and the Terrós cheese, a raw goat’s milk cheese from the Vall de Llèmena. They also offered some home made sausages and something very curious that I want to share with you: the Almadroc (a kind of “alioli” cheese that tastes really good).
A family activity that allowed me to discover a variety of interesting wines and also very rich cheeses, with different textures and flavors, all of them from l’Empordà.
The Costa Brava never ceases to amaze me!
Do you know some of these wines? And what about the cheese?
pd. There are also other fun activities related to enotourism and gastronomy in the Costa Brava, here you have one.
